In Reply to: Back Surgery Success - I've got more metal in me than a small junkyard, but I feel great and I'm looking forward to getting back into my sports posted by Robbin Castro
I had surgery inserting PDN on 28th January 2002.
I had the degenerated disc L5/S1 and also L4/L5.
Before the surgery, I had discogram. During the procedure,
the doctor confirmed only for L5/S1 which is completely
out of disc and must insert PDN. However L4/L5 disc was
forming well and it does not need PDN.
I was suffering from back pain for 7 years.
And also the pain was going to my knees and also my buttock
was in pain. I am 41 years old working mother with
2 athletic boys. I used to be very good at any sports but
since I had pain, I could not jump and run. I am inpatient
and irritated for any small reason. I can't be standing position to
cook for more than 20 min. I had to squad to give space
between vertebra. I tried acupuncture, physio therapy,
chiropractic and hot springs and others.
But when I learned PDN from the doctor in Switzerland,
I thought immediately this is what my body needs.
Today is 28th of February 2002, one month has passed after
the surgery. I have no pain at all not on buttock and my legs as well. It is miracle. I could walk 3 days after the surgery. I can stretch my legs in bed!!! I used to put a cushion under my legs for back pain but in 3 days I knew I don't need it. One week later at home, I could go up and down the stairs. The beginning of 3 weeks, I started to drive again. And 2 days ago, I went swimming with my kids. My life is back. I have numbness in my left foot to knee but I have strength and this tingling feeling is going away little by little everyday. My scar is only about 4 cm on my back which will be invisible later..
I appreciate Dr Ayamen Ramadan in Geneva for his kind
supportive advise and also to the Dr H.H.Lim who operated
me in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. I was the 3rd patient in
Malaysia and Dr Lim is the only one doctor who practices it so far.
Many people think that the back surgery is dangerous but
the technology is changing daily and
you must study and think positive for it.
Good Luck!!! Thank you for inventing PDN as well.
